NdFeB magnets, also known as neodymium magnets, possess exceptional magnetic properties, making them the strongest type of permanent magnets available. Here are the key magnetic properties of NdFeB magnets:

1. High Magnetic Strength: NdFeB magnets exhibit extremely high magnetic strength, allowing them to generate strong magnetic fields. They have a significantly higher magnetic energy product (BHmax) compared to other magnet materials, such as ceramic magnets (ferrite) or Alnico magnets.

2. High Remanence (Br): Remanence, also known as the magnetic induction or the magnetic flux density, refers to the magnetization that remains in the material after the external magnetic field is removed. NdFeB magnets have high remanence values, meaning they retain a strong magnetic field even in the absence of an external field.

3. High Coercivity (Hc): Coercivity is the measure of a magnet's resistance to demagnetization. NdFeB magnets possess high coercivity values, which means they require a strong external magnetic field to demagnetize them. This property ensures that the magnets maintain their magnetic strength over time.

4. High Energy Product (BHmax): The energy product, measured in Mega-Gauss-Oersteds (MGOe) or Kilojoules per cubic meter, represents the maximum amount of magnetic energy that a magnet can store. NdFeB magnets have the highest energy product among all permanent magnet materials, enabling them to deliver strong magnetic performance in a compact size.

5. Excellent Temperature Stability: NdFeB magnets exhibit good temperature stability compared to other magnet materials. However, their magnetic properties can be affected by high temperatures, and they may experience a decrease in magnetic strength at elevated temperatures. Therefore, the operating temperature range for NdFeB magnets is typically specified by manufacturers.

6. Brittle and Susceptible to Corrosion: NdFeB magnets are relatively brittle and can be easily damaged if subjected to impact or excessive mechanical stress. They are also susceptible to corrosion due to the presence of iron in their composition. Therefore, protective coatings or surface treatments are applied to enhance their durability and resistance to environmental factors.
